Step by Step: How to Export Bauxite

Step 1
JAMPRO
- Prepare Applications along with all required documents.
- Submit the application through JSWIFT: https://www.jswift.gov.jm/
- JAMPRO reviews the application and ask for more information if necessary
- Trader makes the payment
- If the application is approved, a Registration Certificate will be issued to the trader.

Trade Board Limited
- Log into the JSWIFT website, complete the application for import/export license
- JSWIFT verifies the application and assigns a Unique Reference Number. Notifies Applicant to make payment
- Applicant makes payment to the application
- If the application is approved, the applicant is notified of the license availability.

Mines and Geology
- Complete the Quarry Licence Application Form
- Submit the form along with required documents
- The Registrar checks the application for completeness
- Inspection Report is prepared and application is taken to the Quarries Advisory Committee (QAC) for review
- Applicant signs orginal document and receives licence

- Complete the Application form
- Submit application to the Registrar along with the application to Registrar along with the application fee and required documents
- Application is checked for accuracy and to check if the area being applied for is available
- Applicant pays fee
- The Exclusive Prospecting Licence is prepared and sent to the Commissioner for review

Step 5
Mines and Geology
- Complete the Application form
- Submit application to the Registrar along with the application to Registrar along with the application fee and supporting documents.
- Applicant pays fee
- The Mining Lease is prepared and sent to the Commissioner or the Deputy for their perusal
- The lease is sent by the Commissioner to the Permanent Secretary for review and submission to the Minister
- If licence is granted, Applicant must submit to the Commissioner a security in the form of Letter of Guarantee or payment using the prescribed form

- Complete the Application form
- The applicant submits the completed form with the prescribed fee to the Cashier, who issues a receipt and advises the applicant to apply with the Mining Registrar.
- The Mining Registrar upon receipt of application checks the information for accuracy, and then prepares the permit
- The permit is then sent to the Commissioner of Mines or any authorized officer for signing and stamp
- The Mining Registrar enters information from the application in the Export Permit Register.
- The applicant gets 2 copies of the Export Permit (one of which is to be submitted to the Trade Board)
- A copy of the permit is also sent to the Police Narcotics Division by the MGD.
